History is the truth and cannot be changed. It's a road that we all must travel. The person that refuses to learn his past will be lost in the future. The strength of a people is having the knowledge and foresight to continue the legacy established by those before them. Each one of the Alumni of the Booker T. Washington/Carver Schools is a product of a very strong legacy established by our forefathers. The legacy was education, obedience, respect, endurance and love for each other. These values should never be forgotten. They should be passed from one generation to another. By continuing to bond together and sharing our life histories with the next generation, our society will become stronger and our people will achieve higher and more fulfilling goals. Our children must know the history of our educational endeavors from the beginning to the end and be proud of the foundation that was established for them to stand tall, worthy and proud. They must be aware of the struggles and sacrifices made so that they would receive an education in preparation for life, not just as a prerequisite for a career. School reunions should always be a rededication of the love and respect our teachers had for each of us; the appreciation and respect we had for them; the community and families that stood together for the love of every child; and for the history in which we so proudly rejoice. We should always share in the moments of the past with values so great to our lives and dedicate our history to the children of our communities so they will not be blind to the beautiful picture of life painted by the lovely alumni of yesteryear. Let the legacy of the African Americans experience of Enid, Oklahoma continue and KEEP THE FAITH!
